Somewhere between drone flights, editing timelines, and steaming plates at Shabu Shabu in Rotterdam, I’ve been shaping a life that’s as multicultural as it is hands-on. My name is Atakan Atçeken, and I’m currently studying trying to find what I actually love.
My roots trace back to Turkey, a heritage I carry with pride—even as I move comfortably between Dutch, Turkish, and English in daily life. Languages have always intrigued me, and I’ve taken that curiosity further by studying Chinese, earning both HSK 1 and 2 certificates to mark the start of that path.
Technology is more than just a hobby for me—it’s a space where creativity and logic meet. As a certified drone pilot, I’ve spent years in the sky capturing footage, and just as much time on the ground cutting and shaping it into stories through video editing. That mix of precision and artistry is something I’ve grown to love, whether I’m behind the controller or in front of Final Cut Pro.
Since February 2024, I’ve been working at Shabu Shabu, gaining experience in a fast-paced team environment that’s sharpened my time management and people skills. Academically, I’ve taken on challenges too, recently completing my International Baccalaureate exam for English Language A: Language and Literature with an IB 4—something that reflects both my bilingual background and my ability to work across cultural lines.
What ties it all together is a simple drive: to keep exploring—new skills, new perspectives, and new ways to connect the dots between where I come from and where I want to go.
